IELTS Writing Task 1 — Frozen Chip Pies (Diagram) #2

The given diagram provides instructions for producing frozen fish pies.

For making a fish pie there are required₁ potatoes, fresh salmon, peas, salt, lemon juice and sauce. The whole process begins with the potatoes₂. Firstly, the manufacturer prepares it₃ for use by washing, peeling and cutting it in slices. After that these slices are baked and moved to the storage. Then the process is followed by the salmon filleting, as the fish should end up in a pie without any bones or skins. Once the fish is finally free of that it is salted, topped with lemon juice and put in the oven for about 12 hours. While the salmon is being cooked, manufacturers prepare peas and make sauce. Finally, after all of the ingredients are mixed together and wrapped in boxes, they are sent to the refrigerator. At the very end the batch of fish pies is ready for transfering₄ to the supermarkets or bakeries.

1. The process of making a fish pie requires potatoes, fresh salmon… — здесь лучше отказаться от страдательного залога из-за конструкции «для чего-то».
2. Здесь и далее ингредиенты идут с определённым артиклем. Хоть логика данного выбора предельного ясна, не стоит фокусировать внимание на конкретной картошке, рыбе и т.д., так как процесс будет повторяться для всей картошки, рыбы…
3. Местоимение ‘it’ здесь относится ко множественному ‘potatoes’.
4. Transferring (spelling)
   Работа начинается с неожиданного (и неоправданного) выбора страдательного залога, но дальше выравнивается в отличный образец грамотной синонимизации и использования лексики. Хорошее использование т.н. sequencers (Firstly, after that, then, once.., while, finally/at the very end), страдательного залога («Once the fish is finally free of that it is salted, topped with lemon juice and put in the oven»), продолженного времени («While the salmon is being cooked…»).
   Единственное пожелание — как-то разделить основной параграф на два поменьше (например с предложения «Once the fish…»).
