IELTS Writing Part 1 — Urban Migration #6

There is a graphic₁ which shows how many people move from countryside to city in three different countries. It covers a period from 2000 to 2025.

As we can see, there are three increasing lines. It means that there is a strong tendency that country habitants have been striving to move to urban areas for the last 20 years. We should also mention that experts predict further rise of the charts. The only country that does not live up to this trend is Indonesia because its line remains constant₂ in the end of the period.

Another interesting detail is that in the beginning of the century, there were more people seeking to move to the city in Russia than in other countries. However, according to he graphs, a green line has the most dramatical₃ increase. As predictors say, this number in Iran will be slightly higher than in Russia in the end of the period.

1. a line graph — слово graphic в английском не означает «график» в русском. В английском оно используется только как прилагательное в значении «ярко описывающий что-то», например a graphic description of the events that took place yesterday.
2. its line levels out/plateaus — используем более интересные формулировки для высоких баллов. Второй глагол в буквальном смысле означает «выходить на плато».
3. Нам  нужно dramatic (драматичный, резкий или значительный). Dramatical как прилагательное вообще не существует, есть лишь наречение dramatically.

В рабоче хочется отметить использование интересных и разнообразных структур (‘country habitants have been striving to move to urban areas’, ‘The only country that does not live up to this trend’, ‘there were more people seeking to move to the city’).Неточности в лексике немного портят впечатление, но не мешают пониманию написанного.
