IELTS Writing Task 2 — Corporate sponsorship in sports

Nowadays sport field is one of the most developing spheres. Its auditory₁ is extremely huge because the rules are simple and almost everyone is capable to understand them. Businessmen see the situation and ready to fund teams to promote themselves and many viewers appreciate it. However, there people₂ who think the drawbacks of this phenomenon are too serious.

As for the advantages, this way companies help sport industry attract more and more viewers. Teams have to always improve their squads₃, medical staff and technologies to beat their opponents. As efficient equipment is expensive and good athletes have high salaries, money that clubs get from tournaments is not enough and they need sponsors. The another reason supporting this idea is that private sponsorship is better than the state one because this way citizens’ money can be spent on more important things, such as education or medicine.

The only drawback of private sponsors is losing a₄ sport spirit. This means that these days the main goal of sportsmen₅ is to become rich, not a great athlete. They do not aim to play for the strongest teams, clubs with higher salaries attract them much more. They have no need to train hard or to win competitions so it is unlikely to see new world record breakers in foreseeing₆ future.

In my opinion, the benefits outweigh the disadvantage. The most of sportsmen stay professional and do their best to win every tournament they participate in because this is the reason why they entered this field when whey were younger. Nevertheless, we should limit how much money do teams receive from sponsorship so the sport remains fair.

2. there are people who think — забыли про глагол.
3. Тут нам нужно либо сугубо спортивное слово «roster», либо более общее «composition».
4. Можем обойтись здесь без артикля, так как говорим о духе спорта вцелом.
5. Лучше повторимся и напишем «athletes», чем останемся со спорным «sportsmen».
